The past two weeks in class has been focused on photoshop, I have never used or knew much about how photoshop worked so learning this new skill about computers is pretty fun. I have learned a lot and have worked with and edited a few photos now. I think that learning photoshop will be useful for a path that leans towards marketing and advertising as it prepares you to make different logos, designs and photos to make things interesting and appealing. I am not a pro at it but right now I am learning the basics and figuring it out as its easy to use and learn.
For those of you that don't know AIDA stands for Attention Interest Desire Action. Don't worry if you didn't know what it meant or had it confused with ADA which is the American Disability Act. It is actually used in marketing and advertising that describes a common sequence of events that may occur when a consumer engages with an advertisement. From what I have learned these elements all have features that are very valuable when promoting a product or even a service. The "A" in AIDA stands for attention, which is the first thing you would want to do and that is to capture the attention of the audience. The "I" refers to interest which points to the topic in advantages and disadvantages of the product and service. "D" is for desire is the overall appeal to the targeted audience. Finally "A" is for action that needs to be clear and obvious for the user to know how to use the product or service. The are guidelines that should be evident in websites that are offering products or services. I have also learned to be more aware of what to look for when I see other websites that are selling products and how they are capturing visitor attention.
